The International University of Miami (UNIMIAMI) has officially inaugurated its headquarters in Doral, Miami, marking a milestone in its international expansion and in its commitment to a 100% online, bilingual and innovation-driven academic model. The opening consolidates UNIMIAMI as a natural bridge between America and Europe and reinforces its purpose: to offer degrees with American standards accessible from any country.
The launch agenda included an intense institutional and academic round with government entities, universities, media and technology leaders. In that context, the Doral Mayor's Office awarded UNIMIAMI a official recognition for his contribution to the advancement of education, innovation and international collaboration. The event took place during the inaugural event held in NBC Universal Telemundo, one of the main audiovisual production centers in the United States, and had the participation of local authorities, academic representatives and technology experts.
"AI is not only useful, it is also transformative"
The meeting, titled “Artificial intelligence applied to education”, focused on the challenges and opportunities of AI in the teaching of the future and served as the framework for an interview on the Noticias en Positivo program of Telemundo with the CEO of EDUCA EDTECH Group, Rafael García Parrado, and the director of UNIMIAMI, Miguel Ángel Martí.
"We believe that artificial intelligence is not only useful, it is also transformative. Therefore, we launched this university in Miami with the desire to help democratize the use of AI and avoid biases in its use," García Parrado stressed, aligning UNIMIAMI's technological vocation with an ethical commitment and social impact.
From the academic direction, Martí influenced the AI as part of the educational experience everyday:
"Artificial intelligence is no longer the future, it is the present, we have it with us. Our model aims to offer the student a training alternative that grows with the student himself."
UNIMIAMI's academic proposal, 100% digital, bilingual and global, is inspired by European rigor, North American dynamism and the social energy of Latin America. Its objective is to democratize access to excellent, flexible and employment-oriented education, with programs that combine technology avant-garde and human accompaniment.
"Virtual teaching is being the big push in education in Latin America and Europe, reducing access gaps and betting on flexible methodologies adapted to the student thanks to AI. With a 100% online and bilingual model, UNIMIAMI offers training with US standards adapted to the global professional future," said Martí.
More and more people are betting on online training
The figures support this trend: in 2025 it is estimated 87.6 million online education users and more than a quarter of university students have already chosen to study digitally.
"Training at a US university is no longer a distant dream. UNIMIAMI has flexible programs, cutting-edge technology and international teachers, redefining the future of learning. Digital education breaks borders and allows access to international-level programs from anywhere," concluded the director of the University.
With this roadmap, AI with purpose, hyperpersonalization and human support, UNIMIAMI opens real opportunities for a new educational era without borders.
