The International University of Miami (UNIMIAMI) has officially opened its campus in Doral, Miami, marking a milestone in its international expansion and its commitment to a 100% online, bilingual, and innovation-driven academic model. This opening solidifies UNIMIAMI's position as a natural bridge between the Americas and Europe and reinforces its purpose: to offer degrees with U.S. standards accessible from any country.
The launch agenda included an intensive series of institutional and academic meetings with government entities, universities, media outlets, and technology leaders. In this context, the City of Doral presented UNIMIAMI with an official award recognizing its contribution to advancing education, innovation, and international collaboration. The ceremony took place during the inaugural event held at NBCUniversal Telemundo , one of the leading audiovisual production centers in the United States, and was attended by local officials, academic representatives, and technology experts.
"AI is not only useful, it is also transformative."
The meeting, titled “Artificial intelligence applied to education”, focused on the challenges and opportunities of AI in the teaching of the future and served as a framework for an interview on Telemundo 's Noticias en Positivo program with the CEO of EDUCA EDTECH Group , Rafael García Parrado , and the director of UNIMIAMI, Miguel Ángel Martí.
“We believe that artificial intelligence is not only useful, it is also transformative. That is why we launched this university in Miami with the aim of helping to democratize the use of AI and avoid biases in its application,” García Parrado emphasized, aligning UNIMIAMI’s technological focus with an ethical commitment and social impact.
From the academic leadership position, Martí emphasized AI as part of the everyday educational experience :
“Artificial intelligence is no longer the future, it’s the present; it’s with us. Our model aims to offer students an alternative training option that grows with them.”
UNIMIAMI's academic offering, 100% digital, bilingual, and global, is inspired by European rigor, North American dynamism, and Latin American social energy. Its goal is to democratize access to an excellent, flexible, and career-oriented education, with programs that combine cutting-edge technology and personalized support.
“Virtual learning is driving a major shift in education in Latin America and Europe, reducing access gaps and promoting flexible, student-centered methodologies thanks to AI. With a 100% online and bilingual model, UNIMIAMI offers training with U.S. standards adapted to the global professional future,” Martí noted.
More and more people are opting for online training
The figures support this trend: in 2025 there are an estimated 87.6 million users of online education and more than a quarter of university students have already chosen to study in digital mode.
“Studying at a U.S. university is no longer a distant dream. UNIMIAMI offers flexible programs, cutting-edge technology, and international faculty, redefining the future of learning. Digital education breaks down borders and allows access to world-class programs from anywhere,” concluded the University Director.
With this roadmap, purposeful AI, hyper-personalization , and human support, UNIMIAMI opens real opportunities for a new era of education without borders.
